19-11-2016 RZESZÓW ACCENT REDUCTION Part 1

rossmulkernProwadzenie: Ross Mulkern

Więcej: English is the language of the world, ubiquitous in business, education and research. As such it is vital for students to be understood clearly in order to communicate effectively. Teachers know this, and yet pronunciation remains sadly neglected in many classrooms, often because of uneasiness on the part of the teacher in this area. These workshops tackle some of the most common questions when it comes to teaching pronunciation, such as ?What aspects should I focus on??, ?Are some more important than other? ?and ?Does accent matter?? as well as providing practical classroom ideas and, of course, plenty of drilling.

20-11-2016 RZESZÓW ACCENT REDUCTION Part 2

Prowadzenie: Ross Mulkern

Więcej: Following on from Part 1, these sessions focus on some of the more advanced aspects of pronunciation, such as connected speech, as well as providing some more practical ideas on how to better incorporate pronunciation into your classroom teaching. Also taken into account will be pronunciation issues specific to Polish learners and their potential effects on communication with both native and non-native speakers from across the globe.

26-11-2016 WARSZAWA APPS, HI-TECH AND ELT Part 1

Prowadzenie: Bulent Akman

bulentWięcej: It sometimes feels as if technology is bringing disruption to education and new tools are appearing too fast. Dropbox, Google classroom, Duolingo, Survey Monkey, Prezi, Quizlet, Todoist? oh my God, aren?t you feeling a little bit lost? If you are, we are here to offer some guidance. This workshop is not about replacing what works in your classroom. The objective is to present a selection of web-based tools for class projects, tests and quizzes, streamlining teacher workflow, language based games and on-line instruction. The biggest waste of time is doing something well that shouldn?t have been done in the first place. The aim is to save local experts time or effort. The solutions presented will be those deployed in the context of university English and business courses and applicable in other teaching contexts. Last but not least, you will leave with 10 hi-tech lesson ideas, which you will be able to use with your students.

10-12-2016 WARSZAWA ELT: PRINCIPLED ECLECTICISM APPROACH

Prowadzenie: Ross Mulkern

Więcej: Intrigued by Dogme but afraid to ditch the coursebook? Tired of the uphill struggle that is engaging teenagers in pronunciation? Want to vary your grammar presentations but stuck for ideas? These workshops will focus on some of the key issues in EFL teaching today, aiming to spark fresh ideas through a collaborative and interactive approach that welcomes the contributions of participants. Each session contains a balance of theory and practice, clearly linked and rooted in current discourse and up-to- the-minute ideas about what constitutes ?best practice? in the world of EFL. All course content is based on the Communicative Approach, however we appreciate that English language teaching is a broad church and encourage discussion and debate in our sessions. We will make sure we talk about:

  • Grammar through narrative and role-play
  • Approaches to teaching writing
  • Teaching pronunciation ? how, why and when?
  • Lesson shapes ? PPP versus TTT
  • How to get the most out of feedback
  • Adventures in Dogme

11-03-2017 WARSZAWA TRENING KREATYWNOŚCI

Prowadzenie: Luiza Wójtowicz-Waga

luiza_wojtowicz_waga_1a-300x286Więcej: Trening kreatywności to szkolenie wyjątkowe.

  • wypróbujesz konkretne narzędzia i techniki podsycające potencjał tworzenia,
  • nauczysz się, jak bodźcować samego siebie, gdy rzeczywistość w tym nie pomaga,
  • w atmosferze dobrej zabawy, w otoczeniu innych kreatywnych nauczycieli,
  • wygenerujesz nowe, rozwiązania dla kilku typowych klasowych sytuacji,
  • zrobisz coś dla siebie.
