FIVE FILMS TO UNDERSTAND AUSTRALIA
Event type: Interactive talks on zoom
Facilitator: Narrelle Harris
Minimum age: 12+
Level: Pre-intermediate + / Intermediate / Upper-intermediate
Time: 40 min. (online)
In this session, Narrelle suggests five films to help non-Australians understand more about Australian history, character and culture – from the battlefield failure that helped to forge a national identity and historical wrongs committed against Australia’s First Nations people, to the elements of migrant and queer Australia that are part of our ‘fair go’ ideals that are highlighted in a famous film about a suburban family, the Kerrigans.
